I’ll probably post some more things later to flesh out some more of the talk itself, in particular the closure parts of it, which I think were useful.

Hi! My name is Alex Miller and I live in St. Louis. I write code for a living and currently work for Revelytix on semantic web products.
In the past I worked for Terracotta, BEA Systems, and MetaMatrix. My main language for the last decade has been Java, although I’m interested in many different languages. I am the founder of the Lambda Lounge user group and the Strange Loop developer conference.

Alex, Great job this morning! Your talk had the perfect level of detail, especially considering the breadth of the topic.
Nice presentation, man. I really got a lot out of it. I’ve been hearing some good things about this Java language.
Very nice summary, cant wait for it :)
