“Party Sort” defined

Party Sort:

A sort mechanism whereby by a group of items is sorted into two categories over time. The items start in a random state scattered throughout an enclosed two dimensional space and then undergo a semi-random walk where they interact by communicating when in close proximity with other items. This interaction serves to establish mutual interest such that over time the space separates into two groups that maintain separation. Typically this separation occurs in a common area known as the “kitchen” and the two groups are labeled “men” and “women”.

Furthermore, “Weighted Party Sort” would be a slight variation wherein the sorting outcome can be affected by one or more weighted factors such as proximity of guacamole, presence or absence of a sporting event on t.v., and/or children trying to ride the poor dog like a pony.
