We produce versions for earlier JDKs to stay compatible with Android and some J2ME profiles. We are working on a conversion tool (”Decaf”) that let’s you work with the latest JDK and produces Jars that run on earlier JDKs. There is a similar tool called “Retrotranslator” on SourceForge.

We have some 3. party apps here from 2003.
The app checks for a spezific java runtime version.
Anything not approved in 2003, or newer as 2003 is handeled as unknown, and the app refuses tu run.
