		<description>Why should this be part of the Java JDK instead of an external library? With the caveat of only knowing what I read in this post, I would say that IBM should take a note from Google and just write these readers themselves and post them to Google Code... the same way a few Googlers wrote Google Collections and posted it to Google Code, and a few other people wrote commons-collections and posted it to Apache. 

Perhaps there is a standard interface which the JVM writers need to implement?</description>
